Cybersociety

The iBit Foundation considers implementing the use of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) into different fields of society and companies to enhance relationships, develop work, allow them to become better known, do business, create trust and share knowledge. To do this, it is necessary to be aware of any new technological innovations that arise, make sure they become publically known and propose their implementation in different sectors. Through the OBSI (Balearic Observatory of the Information Society), different indicators in the use of ICT amongst the general public and businesses are analysed. From the results collected, various lines of action are proposed.

Incorporating ICTs into daily life and in SME professional environments often brings about changes in ways of forming relationships, learning, sharing, behaving and doing business. To this effect, projects of social innovation based on the use of ICTs are proposed.

• Tele-centre Network on the Balearic Islands [+]
  This project seeks to create a network of public points of access to information and communication technology (ICT) to reduce the risk of a digital divide and guarantee a territorial balance and social cohesion in the new Knowledge Society.
• Associations in a Network [+]
  Participative tools for the development of personalised content with Web 2.0 technology to support collaborative work in associations of people on the Balearic Islands.
• Tele-centre for digital social inclusion [+]
  Creation of a classroom in Palma directed at persons with disabilities and their immediate environment (family, carers and experts, etc.)
• Training Course on Open Source Code Solutions for SMEs [+]
  A training cycle aimed at businessmen, businesswomen and employees of SMEs in the Balearic Islands to provide information on solutions based on open source code available on the market.
• +MÒBIL: Mobile devices for the improvement in work efficiency for SMEs and the self-employed  [+]
  The promotion and efficiency in functionalities and the future development of the applications and tools incorporated in the use of mobile devices and their applicability to the business activity of SMEs in the Balearic Island
• edit@: a system for the interoperability of multiplatform contents [+]
  
  Edit@ seeks to createa gateway based on open standards and open source code that will permit interoperability with the content management systems already existing on the market. This will enable the editing, modification and publication of content through a single workflow, producing multiple formats.

• PIMES EN XARXA [+]
  The objective of Pimes en Xarxa (SMEs in a Network) is to develop a methodological tool that focuses on the management of collaborative projects developed by independent professional teams or groups of companies who work remotely. This methodological tool will have the expected result of structuring SMEs that work in a network.
• New functionalities of urbanites living in the countryside [+]
  Development of new functionalities and expansion of information available on the www.aforavila.com web portal
• OBSI SMEs [+]
  The OBSI SME Project consists in a study being carried out, by the Balearic Observatory of the Information Society (OBSI), with the aim of evaluating the degree of digitalization in SMEs.
• OBSI Citizens [+]
  OBSI Citizens is a study headed by the Balearic Observatory of the Information Society (OBSI) with the aim of evaluating the degree of knowledge and use of digital tools of communication, relation, projection, cooperation and management of information and knowledge accessible to the public in general.
